Laura Roth: "Public Energy Number One!"

"ONE OF THE SWEETEST, MOST TALENTED, VERSATILE PERFORMERS I'VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH, LAURA ROTH IS A ONE-WOMAN ENTERTAINMENT GENIUS WHO HAS CREATED AN INDUSTRY ON HER OWN TERMS."
---Gary Aldrich, Extraordinary contributor to the world of opera

"You must agree that Laura's talent is to create a whole different atmosphere with each show. For
example, if she were to bring in the Judy Garland/Liza Minnelli show this time, it would not be seeing Laura but the two women she recreates. That appears to be the charm of her performing, particularly with a voice, acting ability and personality that can create a whole different ambiance."
---Martin Kelly, Producer and former critic of The Times-Union of Albany, NewYork

A retired Englishman now residing in the South of Spain emailed Laura with these thoughts concerning her amazing version of "Ain't Misbehavin," contained in the Audio Archives below, as taken live from her NPR radio show:

"Came across your music whilst downloading some 1920s songs for a friend's "Come Dine With Me". I thought you were a singer from the 20's and was amazed at the quality of the recording for the 1920s compared to the other scratchy sounds I was getting. Your voice blew me away and I had to do some research. Pleased to find you are alive and well, but disappointed you don't seem to have made any albums. I hope you are going to correct this in the future as you have a fantastic voice. Regards, Ron Timms"

An accomplished tour director brought Laura to Hu Ke Lau of Chicoppee, MA, where Laura did several shows, remarking that Laura was funnier than the dozens of nationally-known comics in framed pictures on the showroom walls: "Laura really is funnier.....and they have had EVERYONE at this place over 45 years in business!"
