Here are some recent emails about Laura:
A retired Englishman now residing in the South of Spain emailed Laura with these thoughts concerning her amazing version of "Ain't Misbehavin," contained in the Audio Archives below, as taken live from her NPR radio show:
"Came across your music whilst downloading some 1920s songs for a friend's "Come Dine With Me". I thought you were a singer from the 20's and was amazed at the quality of the recording for the 1920s compared to the other scratchy sounds I was getting. Your voice blew me away and I had to do some research. Pleased to find you are alive and well, but disappointed you don't seem to have made any albums. I hope you are going to correct this in the future as you have a fantastic voice. Regards, Ron Timms"
The owner of Hu Ke Lau of Chicoppee, MA, where Laura did several shows last year, remarked that Laura was funnier than the dozens of nationally-known comics in framed pictures on the showroom walls. Mike Egan, owner of The Travel Group Inc., one of New England's foremost promoters, who brought Laura in, commented via email: "
Laura really is funnier.....and they have had EVERYONE at the Hu Ke Lau over 45 years in business!"
Carrie of Carrie's Tours, the successful events promoter from the Syracuse, New York area wrote: "
